Church’s Atlanta Restaurant Support Center Team Gives Back to the Community Bringing Comfort & Joy to 600 Kids and Their Families
Church’s Atlanta Restaurant Support Center Team, sponsored for the third year in a row, the 42nd Annual Atlanta Fire Rescue Department’s (AFRD) Community Christmas Event for 600 kids and their families in need of extra help during the holidays. Coca-Cola joined Church’s this year as a co-sponsor. The event was started by Fire Station 16 – the first station in Atlanta to hire African American fire fighters 42 years ago. They wanted to help the under-served communities in the neighborhood and started a Christmas lunch and donated toys for the kids.
Church’s leadership team and employees and Coca-Cola donated more than 1,000 toys and bikes for the kids.
Led by CEO, Jim Hyatt, Church’s employees also gave their gifts of time by volunteering at Fire Station 16 where the event took place. They served up Church’s awesome chicken, biscuits and sides and provided comfort and joy to so many kids who would not be able to celebrate Christmas without the AFRD, Church’s Chicken and Coca-Cola. Church’s was able to secure the donation of a tent from Atlanta’s Peachtree Tents & Events so that the AFRD could invite more families in need of help this year.
Church’s invited Atlanta’s FOX-TV’s morning news anchor Karen Graham to host the event and serve lunch alongside Atlanta’s top Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran and Jim Hyatt and the leadership team.
